Feb. 16, 1922

A jolly skating party spent the evening at Medicine Lake Monday, followed by a midnight feed at Zane’s hotel.

A Wyoming Chinook threatened to spoil sleighing here Thursday, but after a few hours of warmth the strange wind left for parts unknown, since then the weather has been anything from pleasant to a few degrees below decency.

Richard Morgan put men to work this week putting up ice for the creamery. Mr. Morgan informs the Times that the owners have decided fully on starting the creamery early next spring. Mr. Morgan and associates have in view the establishment of a midget mill in connection with the creamery power plant. This enterprise will be taken up later when the creamery business has been put on a running basis.

John Pearson passed away at his ranch home near Aladdin Monday evening. Deceased was numbered among the pioneers of Crook County, and for many years was prominent in the sawmill industry in Aladdin and Eothen districts.

Feb. 13, 1947

Everything is in readiness for the grand opening in Sundance Friday and Saturday of this week of the new locally owned Gamble Store by Chester L. Guidinger and Edgar Partlow. The public is invited to come in and look over the new modern store.

Rev. Sanders B. Clayton said Monday that the Inyan Kara church located on the Newcastle-Sundance road would be sold Monday at the court house in Sundance. He said that since it is located on government land it would have to be moved.

Well over 400 farmers and ranchers of Crook County were in Sundance Monday to enjoy the annual “John Deere” day as guests of C.D. Roberts, John Deere dealer for Crook county. Following a free lunch at the implement building the guests enjoyed seeing Bob Burns in “The Windjammer” as well as moving pictures of John Deere machinery.

Feb. 17, 1972

Three members of Sundance Boy Scout Troop No. 62 attended the Governor’s Conference for Boy Scouts in Cheyenne. Local Boy Scouts were Kirk Ellingford, Life Scout; Mike Sprague, 2nd Class; and Jim Durfee, 1st Class. Rudy Ellingford accompanied the Scouts.

Mr. and Mrs. Edward Chatfield have announced the engagement of their daughter Cheryl to Terry Wales, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Wales, Beulah. A June wedding is planned by the couple.

Feb. 13, 1997

The Wyoming High School Activities Association has awarded Sundance High School principal, Randy Ludeman, with a Good Sportsmanship award for the exemplary conduct and good sportsmanship shown during the Sundance vs. Wright High School basketball game in January.
