Continuing the Crook County News Since 1884
Cupid's arrows were pointed at Crook County seniors this Valentine's Day. Family Dollar, many volunteers and Crook County Senior Services, Inc. partnered up to disperse 250 Valentine's Day balloons and homemade valentines.
Family Dollar customers purchased the balloons in Sundance. They sold out in just a few days.
The staff blew up the balloons and had them all ready for Crook County Senior Services to disperse. The valentines were made in the centers, at home by volunteers, and a local 4-H group.
Moorcroft seniors created Valentines' Day gift bags. A sewing group in Moorcroft created Cupid costumes for our valentine deliverers. Cupids flew all over the county.
"It is great to see so many people in the county come together," said Jenna Ellsbury, director. "Cupid visited the long-term care, assisted living, senior centers, local business and individual homes. It was so rewarding to see their faces light up from the surprise."
