This past Saturday the Sundance Wrestling team competed at the always-tough 21-team Hill City Invitational. The grapplers fared very well finishing the day with 17 wins and 14 losses.
The wrestlers finished with three placewinners with Dawson Flahaven (285 lbs.) finishing at 4-2 for fifth place, Leo Lyons (182 lbs.) 3-2 and a fifth-place finish, and Andrew Davis (132) 4-3 for sixth place. Other wrestlers competing were Karter Mayberry (120 lbs.) 2-2, Jayden Keller (120 lbs.) 2-2, Liam Holt (152 lbs.) 1-2, and Gavin Mollenbrink (195 lbs.) 1-2. Zac Duvall at 106 lbs. was ill and did not compete.
This Thursday, the Powder River Conference Duals will be held in Hulett. Teams competing will be Glenrock, Tongue River, Moorcroft, Wright, Hulett and Sundance. Duals start at 1 p.m.
This will be the last competition for the Bulldogs before hosting regionals on Fri., Feb. 18. If we regain our health, we will have eight wrestlers competing for a chance to qualify for the state tournament to be held in Casper on Feb. 25 and 26.
