Assessor's Office announces full accreditation

The Crook County Assessor's Office has announced that, once again this year, every member of staff has been certified by the Wyoming Department of Revenue. As well as Assessor Theresa Curren herself, Todd Fritz has permanent certification. Daniel Thomas and Tracey Jundt have meanwhile achieved temporary certification for the year of 2022.

Curren was first able to achieve full certification for her employees in 2016 after making it one of her goals to ensure the office can function effectively. Temporary certification is issued after achieving a certain number of education hours and taking a test; 90 additional hours of classes are required to reach permanent status, which can take several years due to the limited class timings.

"The Wyoming Department of Revenue recognizes the dedication and effort put forth and is proud of each and every appraiser," states a letter to the office from Brian Judkins, Administrator of the Property Tax Division and Brenda Henson, Director.

"As elected officials you ensure resources, both in staff time and expenditures, are well spent. Your investment in professional development for assessor staff is fundamental to ensuring your constituents are being well served; and that properties are valued uniformly and in accordance with law."
