The meetings, tours and opportunities for public comment that were expected to take place this week as part of the Revitalization Roadmap and Development program have been postponed until the middle of November.
At that time, says Andy Miller of the Sundance Chamber of Commerce, the week is expected to follow the original schedule.
The postponement is due to COVID-19 in the Downtown Redevelopment office, which means Ben Levenger is obliged to delay his engagements for the time being.
The Revitalization Roadmap program is funded through a Wyoming Business Council grant and is intended to create a roadmap for the community so that, as Sundance develops, everyone involved knows where they are headed.
The Revitalization Roadmap involves four steps, the first of which is “destination discovery,” in which local stakeholders are brought together to develop a collective vision for their downtown. This is followed by an assessment of the current situation of downtown, such as public spaces, building conditions, business health and community character.
This part of the process is now scheduled to begin on November 15. In the meantime, citizens may still contribute to the effort by filling in the survey at https://tinyurl.com/SundanceRR or by picking up a hard copy at City Hall or Sundance State Bank.
