Picking up where they left off

Lady Bulldogs volleyball season starts out strong

The 2021 volleyball season is underway and the Sundance Lady Bulldogs have picked up right where they left off last season. Opening play in Lingle, the Lady Bulldogs swept their competition throughout the day.

“We had a great first day,” Head Coach Chelsey Blasczyk stated, “Some of the younger players have never experienced these all-day tournaments and it was fun to see them improve throughout the day.”

Senior Ty Holloman opened her senior year showing the competition that she is still a dominant force at the net, leading the Bulldogs with 24 kills and six aces for the day. Fellow seniors Bailey and Brook Hofland also contributed to the Bulldogs dominance at the net with 14 and 11 kills respectively, while Cana McInerney helped to set the offense in motion with 53 assists throughout the day.

“Our veteran varsity players represented in true Sundance form with huge hits and confidence all around the court,” commented Blasczyk.

The Bulldogs finished their day in Lingle defeating Rock River, Lingle Ft. Laramie, Niobrara County and Pine Bluffs.

“It was a great day figuring out what to work on before heading into a two-day tournament next week against bigger schools,” stated Blasczyk.

The Sundance Lady Bulldogs will be back on the court this weekend as they participate in the Gillette Tournament on September 3-4.
