Fred Schon, a Sundance man in his eighties, will serve up to 40 years of incarceration for sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree. Schon was originally charged with 52 separate felony counts of the same charge.
The incidents allegedly took place over a period of approximately four years, according to court reports. The allegations were investigated by Sundance Police Department with the assistance of the Department of Family Services.
According to police statements, Schon ultimately admitted to the allegations.
Schon pled guilty to two counts of sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree. Judge John R. Perry sentenced him to between 18 and 20 years in a penal institution for each count, to run consecutively. Credit was given for eight days already served.
