Sundance resident gets suspended sentence

Sundance resident Josh Idler has been given a suspended sentence on child abuse, reckless endangerment and domestic battery charges related to an allegedly ongoing situation of verbal and physical abuse that culminated in an incident where he pulled a handgun on a victim.

Idler pled guilty to one felony count of child abuse and misdemeanor count of reckless endangerment.

Judge Stuart S. Healy III sentenced Idler to between two and six years in a state penal institution for the first count, one year of incarceration for the second and 180 days for the third, all of which are to run concurrently.

The sentences have been suspended pending successful completion of three years of supervised probation on the first count, one year on the second and six months on the third, again to run concurrently.
