Betty Bernice (Hedger) Nicholson was born March 15, 1930, to Santford Lee and Doris Muriel (Page) Hedger, in Piniele, Montana. She departed this life to enter her eternal Heavenly home on July 6, 2021, at the age of 91 years.
Betty was united in marriage to W. Louverne Nicholson on August 21, 1949, in Belle Fouche, South Dakota. To this union, three children were born; Leonard E., Larry E., and Bonnie L.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Louverne; parents, Santford and Muriel; stepfather, Louis Huseby; her brother, Warren Hedger; and her brother-in-law, Charles McAmis.
Betty accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized in the Jacks Fork River near Alley Springs, Missouri.
She grew up on a ranch in Wyoming and attended a one-room country school. In 1966, she and her family moved to Birch Tree, Missouri, where she spent the rest of her life raising Angus cattle. They also made annual trips to Wyoming to visit relatives and friends. In 1976, she and Louverne went to Alaska to work for four years in the trucking industry helping Louverne’s cousin grow his enterprise.
Betty loved to express herself with the written word by journaling, keeping notes and events recorded for several decades. She loved plants of all kinds, especially when they bloomed. Crocheting and quilting were also a passion, at which she excelled!
Survivors include her brother, Eric Huseby and wife, Jeannie of Hulett, Wyoming; sister, Donna McAmis of Moorcroft, Wyoming; children, Leonard E. Nicholson and wife, Penny of Athens, Alabama, Larry E. Nicholson and wife, Ramona of Mtn. Home, Arkansas, and Bonnie L. and husband, Robert Triplett of Birch Tree, Missouri; nine grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
