July 14, 1921
Willard Ripley Jr. was over from Hulett Tuesday and left Wednesday with four top-notch bucking broncs to enter in frontier days at Newcastle this week. Willard made a good showing at Belle Fourche and expects them to jump high at Newcastle. If he has good luck he will go to Cheyenne for the frontier celebration.
About a week ago Frances Harmon, age 14, disappeared from her home in Sundance and an investigation by the sheriff and county attorney finally resulted in locating her at Alzada, in company with a traveling sign-painter named Craig, who did some work here recently.
Bearing out the Times prophecy, Sundance has entered on a winning streak and took over Moorcroft at that place Sunday, 20 to 16. While the score sounds hollow, it was a real win and counts, and the next time Aladdin shows up there will be something doing.

If you have a spare bedroom, or a room that you can fix up a little, you can render a service to the many tourists traveling through Sundance and at the same time, make quite a little extra cash for yourself. With the heaviest tourist travel since before Pearl Harbor, tourists are taxing all the facilities of Sundance to the maximum. Every night hotel and tourists camps are turning away business because they do not have a bit of available space.
That Sundance may have a proper air marker to properly show the location, distance from Sundance, latitude and longitude of the local airfield the Sundance Commercial Club members meeting in regular session authorized the airport committee to purchase necessary equipment and lay out an airport marker on the top of Lee’s Pharmacy building in Sundance. When completed the sign will be visible from a high altitude.

July 15, 1971
University of Wyoming trustees, on their annual tour of UW agricultural substations in the state, will interrupt the tour Friday to tour the facilities of the former Sundance Air Force Station.
Dredging operations at Sundance Fairgrounds Pond have been completed by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department. The project at the pond was started early in June. Using its 25-ton floating dredge, the department deepened a portion of the pond and removed an excessive growth of aquatic vegetation.

Former Undersheriff Steve J. Stahla was appointed Sheriff by the Crook County Commissioners at their meeting Monday night. The Crook County Republican Central Committee received a total of six applications for the job. Those applying were Stahla, Bill Sipe, Doug Lundborg, John McPartland, Wayne Ludwig and Steve Couch. From those, they chose the names of Stahla, Sipe and McPartland to present to the Commissioners to make their choice.
