Library hosting Teddy Roosevelt historical program

Crook County Library will host the program “Theodore Roosevelt in the Black Hills of Wyoming” by Gib Young on Monday, June 28 at 7 p.m. in the library meeting room in Sundance. The program is free and open to the public.

Reenactor Gib Young will be bringing the most interesting and most active President in our history to life before your eyes. Come meet and talk with Teddy Roosevelt (circa 1915). Hear his stories of days as a cowboy, stories of overcoming disabilities and sickness and maybe even how the Teddy Bear got its name.

Mr. Young has performed a number of times in our local area, including Mount Rushmore, Devil’s Tower and Custer State Park.

He has also performed at hundreds of other venues including: the JFK Library, Smithsonian Museum of American History, Grand Canyon National Park, Lincoln Boyhood Home, Lincoln Home National Historic Site, Women’s Rights National Historic Park and Washington’s Mount Vernon. He has performed at scores of schools, libraries, festivals and fairs.
