Continuing the Crook County News Since 1884
More than 50 individual yard sales will be taking place over two days this weekend as the Country Junkin’ Weekend returns for its third year.
Garage and yard sales have always punctuated the summer in this part of the world, but local chambers of commerce teamed up in 2019 to introduce an idea that would turn an opportunity for treasure-hunting into a countywide event complete with the opportunity for a road trip adventure across the area.
From food to glassware, antiques to yard tools, individual vendors will be offering their wares in locations throughout the county. The event is scheduled for June 18 and 19 and the list of locations is already available on the sundancewyoming.com website.
This will allow shoppers to plan your route ahead of time, with many vendors available on both days of the event but some that will only be set up for a specific time period. Some locations will feature individual vendors, while others will involve multiple families.
In Hulett, Mercantile 307 will be opening its parking lot to multiple vendors, for instance, while the brand new Sundance Square park will also host a number of booths.
The Country Junkin’ event was originally conceived as a way to attract visitors to the area while giving avid collectors the chance to share their wares and combining the annual yard and garage sales into an organized event for convenient shopping fun. This year, Country Junkin’ will be hosted by the Sundance Chamber of Commerce.
