Mar. 24, 1921

A most enjoyable masquerade dance was pulled off at Commercial Hall Thursday evening. The weather was fine and a good crowd was present. Some of the costumes were very elaborate and the show was very interesting from the spectators’ point of view. Awards were made as follows: most elaborate costume, Tom Roark and Miss Ruby Bock. Best comedy character, Hugh Heckinger, and a tie between Mrs. Harry Schloredt and Miss Claire Crewdson. Best waltzer, Ed Thomas and Mrs. James Jelbert.

Jack Minnis has bought the Hulett feed barn and the Hulett-Aladdin stage line from John Thorn. Mr. Minnis takes possession April 1.

Mar. 21, 1946

L.G. Landers, county agent said that J.J. Austin, REA representative for the seventh district will be in Sundance to meet with R.E.A. committeemen and other interested parties to discuss developments regarding the proposed REA line into Crook county and Sundance.

A deal was consummated last week whereby H.P. Ilsley and associates became the owners of the Union State Bank at Upton. The new owners will take possession April 1 and J. E. Ackerman, who has been assistant cashier at the Sundance State Bank will move to Upton to take charge as cashier.

John Whities, Devils Tower was in Sundance Monday. He said that he had recently sold his ranch to Donal Grubb who will move there immediately, while Whities will move into Hulett where he has bought the Dole Brimmer house.

Mar. 25, 1971

Three days of activities during the state meeting of the Wyoming State Snowmobile Association ended in a snowstorm here Sunday afternoon. At the awards banquet Saturday, at which Gov. Stan Hathaway spoke briefly, the Gillette snowmobile club was presented with the traveling trophy. The Bear Lodge Snowmobile Club placed second in the competition. Hathaway, speaking at the banquet, said he was happy to be in the fun former of Wyoming.

Mar. 21, 1996

Sundance High music students enjoyed a first ever sweep of Class “C” at the Chadron Jazz Festival held at Chadron State College. Sundance took home the first place trophy in all four categories. Kenda Fuhrmann received an outstanding vocal soloist honor, Jeremy Engel, Ben Tonak and Jason Lanning each received outstanding instrumental soloist awards. Lanning and Jennifer Marks (Gering) shared the award for most outstanding soloists.
