Clifford Allan Moore

Clifford Allan Moore passed away at home in Sundance, Wyoming, on December 13, 2020, after a long battle with cancer. He was 84 years old.

Cliff was born on May 1, 1936, in Concord, California, to Walter Marshall Moore and Edna Marie Walter Moore. When attending Chapman College (now Chapman University) in Orange, California, he met Katherine JoAnne Cooper and as they say, the rest is history. Cliff and JoAnne were married on April 14, 1957 and to their union were born four sons.

After Cliff graduated from college, he began a career in sales, which included being a manufacturer’s representative. His territory covered California, Oregon and Washington.

In 1994, he began his second career by attending Seabury-Western Seminary in Evanston IL. After graduation, he was ordained a transitional deacon in July 1997, and a priest in December of 1997.

He served Wyoming Episcopal churches in Wheatland and Hartville, then he began work as a Ministry Developer, working with several churches in eastern Wyoming. When it became time for him to retire, he took additional training and became an interim priest, working with Episcopal churches in Twin Falls, Idaho, Buffalo and Dubois, Wyoming and Rapid City, South Dakota. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Walter Marshall Moore, Jr. He is survived by his wife; his sons, David Moore (Beth), Peter Moore (Susan Chin), Mark Blayney-Moore (Carlene) and Scott Sumner-Moore (Sue). He is also survived by grandchildren Kyle Moore, Spencer Moore, Kelsey Moore, Gregory Moore, Ryan Blayney-Moore (T.J.), Derek Blayney-Moore, Ben Sumner-Moore (Crystal), Meg Sumowiec (Nico) and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be sent to Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Box 246. Sundance, WY 82729.
