Continuing the Crook County News Since 1884
The two individuals responsible for Crook County’s response to a disaster have both received accolades this week from the Wyoming All Hazards Association (WAHA).
The WAHA certification committee has determined that Melanie Wilmer, Public Health Response Coordinator, will be awarded the title of Wyoming Emergency Manager.
Jim Mitchell, WAHA President, states in his notification letter to Wilmer that this is the highest certification that can be awarded from the organization.
Ed Robinson, Emergency Management Coordinator, has meanwhile been notified that he has attained the certification of Associate Wyoming Emergency Manager.
Mitchell expresses gratitude to both Wilmer and Robinson for their service and, “commitment and efforts to better the health of Crook County and its citizens.” The pair were both commended for their support in training and planning and continued assistance to WAHA.
WAHA was formed to promote planning, preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation for all types of hazard, as well as to protect life and property from disasters throughout Wyoming. Previously known as the Emergency Preparedness Association of Wyoming, the association reorganized after emergency management transitioned to Homeland Security and was formalized in 2014.
