District Judge Michael N. Deegan has announced that he will be retiring from the Sixth Judicial District, which covers Crook, Campbell and Weston Counties. Deegan’s official retirement date will be December 25.
Judge Deegan has served the Sixth Judicial District since his appointment by Governor Dave Freudenthal in September, 2005.
The announcement from Wyoming Supreme Court Chief Justice Michael K. Davis indicates that the Judicial Nominating Commission will be accepting expressions of interest from people who would like to fill the vacancy until August 31.
The form to do so can be located at http://www.courts.state.wy.us/Administration/Careers. The new Sixth Judicial District Court Judge will be appointed by Governor Mark Gordon from a list of three names submitted.
