Continuing the Crook County News Since 1884
The Board of Trustees for Crook County Medical Services District (CCMSD) received word last week that CEO Nathan Hough has tendered his resignation to Health Management Services, the company contracted to provide management services to the district.
“[Hough has] provided HMS with 30 days’ notice of his resignation from employment with HMS. Karl Rude, President of HMS, advised the Board of Trustees that HMS is working to fill the vacancy created by Mr. Hough’s resignation,” said the board in a statement.
“The Board of Trustees is committed to assisting HMS as needed to ensure the CEO position for CCMSD is filled. The Board of Trustees thanks Mr. Hough for his service and thanks the professional staff of caregivers at CCMSD for providing quality care to the residents of Crook County.”
Hough comments that, “Leaving CCMSD and HMS was a very hard and heartbreaking decision for me and my family. CCMSD and the staff are extremely important to me and I pray for continued improvements in services for the community by this team. Crook County will be greatly missed.”
Rude later commented that HMS is also saddened by Nathan’s decision to resign his position as the management company’s Vice President of Hospitals.
“Nathan has fostered the development of a great team, and through much discussion with him, and after great personal consideration, he has made his decision to move on to new opportunities,” Rude said.
“HMS maintains a network of professionals and has already been conducting interviews with prospective candidates from across the country, inside Wyoming as well as local candidates that may have interest in taking this leadership position.”
While Rude is not yet sure what effect Hough’s resignation will have on negotiations to renew the contract between HMS and CCMSD, he says he is still committed to the process.
“HMS wants to be successful in operating CCMSD for the foreseeable future and will work with them to ensure that the new recruit will have an opportunity to work with Crook County for years to come,” he says.
