Continuing the Crook County News Since 1884
This past Saturday ended the 2019-20 wrestling season for the Sundance Bulldogs at the State Meet in Casper. The grappling Bulldogs came away from the state meet with two place-winners.
Junior Owen Haiar claimed 5th place at 126 lbs. with a record of 4-2 and Junior Josh Pridgeon took home 6th place at 182 lbs. with a 3-3 record over the weekend. First-year senior Lance Weaver finished one match short of placing going 2-2 at 182 lbs.
Four others wrestling for Sundance were 195 lb. freshmen Gavin Mollenbrink and sophomore Leo Lyons and 220-pounders sophomores Dawson Flahaven and Roman Hrek.
With two state place winners returning along with several injured wrestlers who were not able to complete or compete this season returning, the 2020-21 grapplers are looking forward to a very successful season. Coach Carsrud and myself appreciate all the parents of the wrestlers and the administration and fans for their support throughout the season.
