A UPS truck found itself in trouble on I-90 just outside Sundance on Thursday morning. The sizeable vehicle left its eastbound lane of travel and became lodged in the snow. All lanes were closed once rescue arrived and the truck was hauled back out onto the road. The crash occurred after several days of stormy weather, starting on Monday with two days of snowfall that saw 15 inches fall in Hulett, ten inches at Pine Haven and eight inches in Sundance. The event was caused, according to the National Weather Service, by an elongated area of low pressure that moved slowly from eastern Montana to South Dakota, ingesting significant moisture along the way. After a relatively clear Wednesday in Crook County, several more inches fell overnight.
