Good showing at Regionals

On Saturday, the Sundance wrestling team trekked down to Lingle for the 11-team Regional tournament. This tournament is the qualifier for the state tournament.

Placing for the Bulldogs were Owen Haiar at 126 lbs. (2nd place), Josh Pridgeon at 182 lbs. (2nd place), Lance Weaver also at 182 lbs. (3rd place), Dawson Flahaven at 220 lbs. fell one match short of placing, losing 9-6 in that match. Others participating but not placing were Gavin Mollenbrink at 195 lbs., Leo Lyons 195 lbs. and Roman Hrek at 220 lbs.

On Thursday the wrestlers will head to Casper for the state tournament to be held at the Casper Event Center on Friday and Saturday. First round action will begin on Friday at 9 a.m.

Correction from last week: Gavin Mollenbrink went 4-0 and claimed the conference championship in the 220 lb. weight class and made the Northeast District Coaches All Conference team.
