Winter whiteout

A strong, low pressure system brought snow and gusty winds to the Black Hills on Monday. Several inches of snow continued to fall through the night and into Tuesday, while the roads became slippery and glazed with ice, all of which made travel tough around the area and led to a temporary closure on Hwy 585. The heaviest snow fell over the Black Hills and their foothills, while the wind gusts were expected to reach up to 45 mph in some parts of northeastern Wyoming. Schools were closed across the county on Tuesday.
