Sundance High School Honor Choir and Band make beautiful music

Sundance sent a select group of choir and band students to represent SHS at the Northeast Music District Clinic. With other honor choir and band students from around the NE region, the SHS Honor Choir and Band put on an amazing performance of moving pieces.

The choir sang five songs from different composers, while the band played four arrangements also by varying composers. A sample of the challenging pieces includes Tres Cantos Dos Indios Krao (Macros Lente) for the choir, while the band performed Apollo: Myth and Legend (Robert Romeyn).

Comments from the clinicians, Aaron Roberts and Amy Schendel included: these students who haven’t sung or played together as a group came well prepared; they are talented and amazing young people to work with.  The hard work of the individual schools’ music teachers to prepare their students prior to the clinic resulted in a concert-level performance.

Honor Choir Representatives: Josiah Rudloff (Bass), Darcy Flahavan (Alto), Allie Crawford (Alto), Briska Johnson (Alto)

Honor Band Representatives: Hunter Skeens (Euphonium), Kalee Price (Flute), Telsie Comer (Percussion), Ashlynn Fowler (Trombone)
