Talking turkey

The Sundance kindergarten students were asked how to make a Thanksgiving turkey dinner. Here are their recipes:

Mrs. Hansen’s Class

For our Thanksgiving turkey, we get it from a chicken. We start by putting seasons on it. We then stuff it with meat. We cook it in the oven for 12 minutes at 17 degrees. I enjoy eating my turkey with lettuce and vegetables. We eat our Thanksgiving turkey in our kitchen at lunchtime. I love sharing my turkey with our friends, cousins, brothers and sisters.

Our Thanksgiving turkey comes from the store. We season it with pepper. We stuff it with a spatula. To cook our turkey, we use the stove at our home. We cook it at 36 degrees for 35 hours. I like to eat my turkey with ketchup at the table. I share my Thanksgiving turkey with my mom, dad and brother on a Thursday.

My dad will shoot our Thanksgiving turkey from the woods and bring it to our house. We will cut the meat out first then cut the wings off. We cook it in the kitchen for six minutes at 16 degrees. I enjoy eating my turkey with ketchup. We eat ours when it’s turkey day. I share my turkey with my little brother and my dad, but not my mom. She doesn’t like turkey.

I get my Thanksgiving turkey from the store. I dress it with pepper and different seasonings. I don’t stuff it with anything though. We cook it in the stove for 37 days at seven degrees. I don’t like to eat my turkey with anything else, but we do eat it at our table at our house. We usually eat our turkey at 3:00 with my kids and dad, but not mom. My mom doesn’t eat turkey.

For my Thanksgiving turkey, we usually get it by hunting it and shooting it with a gun. We dress/season it with camouflage stuff. We will cook it in the microwave for six minutes for 16 degrees. We like to eat our Thanksgiving turkey with three packages of ham and cheese at my grandma and Papa’s house in Newcastle. We usually eat it in the afternoon of turkey day. I share my turkey with Grandma, Papa, Mom and Dad. I actually don’t eat the turkey. I eat ham.

We usually get our turkey for Thanksgiving from the store. We season it with A1 sauce then we cook it in the oven. We cook it for 23 seconds on warm. I enjoy eating my turkey with salad. We eat our turkey at the table at our house, or sometimes we’ve had it at our church. I share my turkey with all of my family. They are my mom, dad, brothers, then sometimes we eat with both my grandmas, grandpa, papa and cousins. We eat it for our supper on Thanksgiving Day.

We usually kill our own turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. I would dress it with a Thanksgiving look. I would stuff it with seeds…maybe. We cook it in the stove for probably 10 minutes on super-hot, like 10 degrees. I enjoy eating my turkey with cranberry sauce, stuffing and cooked beans. We eat our turkey at our big round table at 8:00. I share my turkey with my brother, dad and mom.

I love sharing my turkey with grandma, grandpa, my cousins, mom, dad and sister, but my brother eats cereal.

It has to be on really hot, like 20 degrees. I enjoy eating my turkey with gravy and bread. We eat our turkey at the table at night. I love sharing my turkey with my grandma, grandpa, Janice and other people.

We don’t eat a Thanksgiving turkey, so we have roast. We season the roast with pepper. We cook our roast in the crock pot for 49 minutes on 50 degrees. I enjoy eating my roast with carrots. It depends on where we eat our roast, but probably our house. We eat it during lunch time. I enjoy sharing my Thanksgiving roast with my family.

I sometimes share my turkey with my big brother, if he’s nice.
