Continuing the Crook County News Since 1884

Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor,

The CCMSD (Crook County Medical Services District) Board regular meeting took place on October 29, 2019. I would like to share a few positive items from that meeting and from things we’ve done this year.

Strategic planning meeting October 18, 2019. Twenty-three “stakeholders” from the community, staff, board, etc., took part in the meeting. The trainers worked with us to set short-term and long-term goals for the Hospital District and medical area.

We had very positive input from those attending. We would like to thank all who attended and had input. We discussed “blocks” – items that keep us from reaching our goals – and “levers” – items that help us reach our goals. We are looking forward!

During the meeting on October 29, the CCMF foundation presented updated potential drawings on the Hulett Clinic. They also requested that the CCMSD Board and others request by priority other options for the Foundation to take part in – fundraising or funding from the Foundation. Examples: ambulance, monitors at hospital, small projects or repairs, future new hospital.

In the past, the Foundation has helped with the following items, plus more: stove for kitchen, flooring in Long Term Care (LTC), $100,000 to keep CCMSD running nine years ago, air conditioning for LTC, defibrillator, LTC shower room, doors on front of hospital and in LTC for garden area, built Moorcroft clinic, built Sundance clinic, put new siding and roof on Hulett clinic.

We look forward to working with all in the county to move forward with the potential for the district and to ensure that we follow our mission – to work for the people – to provide the best medical and health services for our residents and others.

Please come to board meetings and give your input or see the good things happening in our area.

Thanks,

Connie Lindmier, Secretary-Treasurer
