Fall 2019 e-cycling event a success

On September 5 and 7 the Crook County Natural Resource District (CCNRD) once again held an Electronics Recycling (E-Cycling) Event in Hulett and Sundance. As a service to Crook County residents, the CCNRD was able to collect each participant’s first 100 pounds of electronic waste for free and charge a lesser rate for amounts over 100 pounds, thanks to financial support from the Crook County Commissioners, the City of Sundance and the City of Hulett.

At the conclusion of the events, ProTech Computing Services of Gillette hauled away over 8000 pounds of electronic waste, which will be transferred to a facility that recycles what they can, reuses what is available and guarantees personal identity information will be destroyed.

The CCNRD-hosted E-Cycling Event reduces the risk of contamination and keeps hazardous waste out of our landfills. The CCNRD was very appreciative of the people who gave their time to help accept the e-cycling materials.

Volunteers for the event included Faith Anderson of Hulett, Molly Amann and Tori Wheeler of Sundance and CCNRD Board Supervisors. Thank-you to everyone else who also participated and contributed to diverting these materials out of our landfills.

The CCNRD looks forward to offering this service once again next year. If you would like to stay up to date on upcoming events, please check out the CCNRD’s Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/CrookCountyNRD or call the office at 307-283-2870 x 4.
