Board Meeting – October 7, 2019

Chairman Peggy Boardman called the regular board meeting of the Crook County Fair Board to order at 5:28 pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

Board members present: Peggy Boardman, Terri Johnson, Lonny Bossman, Justin Gerstner

Board members absent: Amy Pravecek

Employees present: Carolyn Fowler, Ken Karry

Visitors: Bobbi Butler, Fred Devish, Tanja Miller

Terri moved to approve the agenda, Lonny seconded, all ayes, motion carried.

Guests-Tanja talked about the Dairy Goat Show in September. The next show would be September 18-20, 2020.

Lonny moved to approve the minutes from the September 3, 2019 meeting, Terri seconded, all ayes, motion carried.

Lonny gave the Treasurer’s Report.

$ 68,129.05 September Checking Balance

Lonny moved to re-issue the Rodeo Queen check and the lost premium check, Justin seconded, all ayes, motion carried.

Carolyn gave the Secretary Report. The fall/winter hours for the office are Monday-Thursday 8am to 1 pm.

Ken gave the Maintenance Report.

Fred Devish discussed the new shed and building improvements.

Peggy gave the Awards Committee report.

Old Business: The 2020 fair theme will be “Crook County Fair, A Perfect 2020 Vision”

New Business: Lonny moved to adopt the amended budget in the format prepared by the Clerk with the resolution advertising the proposed amendment, Justin seconded, all ayes, motion carried. Terri moved to approve the budget as amended, Lonny seconded, all ayes, motion carried.

Premiums will be added to the Grand and Reserve Champion rosettes for livestock.

Justin moved to approve Ken to purchase the lumber for the horse stalls, Lonny seconded, all ayes, motion carried.

Lonny moved to pay the bills including those to be received, Justin seconded, all ayes, motion carried.

Terri gave her report of her attendance at the Wyoming Association of Fairs.

Lonny moved to adjourn at 7:49 pm, Justin seconded, all ayes, motion carried.

The next meeting is scheduled for November 4, 2019 at 5:30 pm.
