Volunteer of the year

Crook County Family Violence and Crook County Attorney’s Victim Witness Program have selected Carol Bui as their Volunteer of the Year for 2018-19. Bui has volunteered for the former organization for ten years and the latter for two, with over 1300 hours contributed in the last year alone.

Bui was nominated for her dedicated service and also her passion, knowledge and drive for helping others. Her favorite part of volunteering, she says, is, ”making the victim feel safe and that it’s not their fault.”

Bui has also volunteered for the Gillette Abuse Refuge Foundation for over 18 years and has worked for S.T.A.R.R. Communication for 15 years. She lives with her husband of 12 years, Pat, and her four dogs, Sarge, Vinny, Lattea and Cali, enjoying interests such as collecting rocks and crystals, cooking and caring for her friends and family while lending a helping hand to anyone who might need it.
