Board Meeting – September 3, 2019

Chairman Peggy Boardman called the regular board meeting of the Crook County Fair Board to order at 5:43 pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

Board members present: Peggy Boardman, Terri Johnson, Lonny Bossman, Amy Pravecek

Board member absent: Justin Gerstner

Employees present: Carolyn Fowler, Ken Karry

Visitors: Hugh Jenkins, Sara Fleenor, Linda Fritz, Tanja Miller, Ivan Cranston, Laurie Schwabauer, Beth Kreuter, Pat Liebsack, Stevie Phillips, Jim Pannell

Lonny moved to approve the agenda with changes, Amy seconded, all ayes, motion carried.

Superintendents and advisors discussed the fair and made suggestions for the next year.

Terri moved to approve the minutes from the August 5, 2019 meeting, Lonny seconded, all ayes, motion carried.

Lonny gave the Treasurer’s Report.

$ 18,036.02 August Expense

$ 62,156.13 Net Income

$ 59,010.37 August Checking Balance

Lonny moved to pay bills including those just received and the city bill coming in, Amy seconded, all ayes, motion carried.

Carolyn gave the Secretary Report.

Ken gave the Maintenance Report.

Old Business: The fair theme will be decided at the October meeting.

New Business:

Linda discussed the purpose for a budget work session to show the board details of the budget and the new format. A budget work session is scheduled for September 9, at 4:00 pm at the courthouse.

Lonny moved to adjourn at 8:03 pm, Amy seconded, all ayes, motion carried.

The next meeting is scheduled for October 7, 2019 at 5:30 pm.
