Charley Oudin, late of the U.S. marines, is among Sundance friends today, hale and hearty.

Robert Bomar, one of the first Crook County boys to enlist in 1917 and was a member of the 148th field artillery, sent home folks word that he had arrived in the United States. He is expected home soon.

Mel Dudrey is the new contractor on the Sundance-Moorcroft mail line and is prepared to make his first trip on Friday of this week. Mel has had experience on this line in all seasons of the year with satisfaction to the public. Ole Olson, who has handled the line with good satisfaction the past 14 months, retires on account of declined health.

September 7, 1944

Following the resignation of R.W. Macy, as postmaster at Moorcroft, Lee Waddell was made postmaster there Thursday. Macy, who has been postmaster at Moorcroft for years, left that office to go to an inspector position with the post office department. Mr. Waddell, who is located on a ranch near Moorcroft, has been a resident of that vicinity about ten years.

Billie McAllister, who has been visiting his sister Mrs. Ted Thorn and family near Devils Tower, was a visitor in town Saturday. Billie has been overseas for over two years and has been enjoying a 30 day furlough. He says in all his travels, Wyoming still looks best to him.
