Chairman, Roger Connett called to order the regular meeting of the Crook County Land Use Planning & Zoning Commission August 12, 2019 at 7:00 p.m.

Amend and Adopt the Agenda

Chairman, Roger Connett asked if there were any amendments to the agenda. Cody Galloway made a motion to adopt the agenda as written; Mary Yemington seconded, the motion which carried.

Approval of the Minutes

Chairman, Roger Connett asked if there were any additions or corrections to the June meeting minutes. Mary Yemington made a motion to approve the minutes from the regular meeting held June 10, 2019 as written; Cody Galloway seconded, the motion which carried.

Public Hearing – Pine Cone Subdivision

Chairman, Roger Connett opened the public hearing for the Pine Cone Subdivision at 7:05 p.m. and asked if there were any public comments from anyone attending the meeting. Ed Scott with the Pine Haven Volunteer Fire Department provided a letter with recommendations. Discussion was held concerning the required access & utility easement to adjoining property shown on the plat. Discussion was also held concerning the existing easements and encumbrances that are not currently shown or noted on the plat. Mary Yemington made a motion to send the subdivision application and plat on to the Board of County Commissioners with the recommendation for approval with the discussed corrections and additions to the plat; Rodney Geil seconded the motion which carried. Chairman, Roger Connett closed the public hearing for the at 7:40 p.m.

New Business

Chairman, Roger Connett stated that the next agenda item was County Commissioner, Jeanne Whalen. Discussion was held concerning coordination with federal agencies and the importance of writing letters of comment for proposed federal actions. Discussion was also held concerning new legislation that provides state funding for updating the County Comprehensive Plan. Jeanne also stated that she will be drafting amendments for the Crook County Land Use Planning & Zoning Commission’s Bylaws. No action was taken.

Election of Officers

Chairman, Roger Connett opened nominations for Chairman; Mary Yemington nominated Roger Connett; Rodney Geil seconded; Rodney Geil made a motion that nominations cease; Mary Yemington seconded, and Roger Connett was elected Chairman. Chairman, Roger Connett opened nominations for Vice-Chairman; Mary Yemington nominated Cody Galloway; Rodney Geil seconded; Rodney Geil made a motion that nominations cease; Mary Yemington seconded, and Cody Galloway was elected Vice-Chairman.

Old Business

Chairman, Roger Connett opened discussion on the Amendments for the Minor Subdivision Regulation. Tim Lyons stated that he would provide the commission members a new draft of the regulation reflecting the changes that had been accepted at the April 8, 2019 before the September meeting and it will be added to the September agenda as a new business item.

Adjourned

Rodney Geil made a motion to adjourn the meeting; Cody Galloway seconded, the motion which carried. The Crook County Land Use Planning & Zoning Commission regular monthly meeting adjourned at 8:48 p.m.
