Eleanor Marion Phillips

Eleanor Marion (Deak) Phillips, age 93, of Sundance, Wyoming and Yuma, Arizona, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019 in the Yuma Regional Medical Center. She was the loving wife of the late Lewis L. Phillips.

Born in Jermyn, PA, Eleanor was the daughter of the late John and Beatrice Hockin Deak. Eleanor graduated from Jermyn High School, attended business college and worked as a legal secretary in Washington, DC.

She and her husband retired to Sundance and operated the WF cattle ranch. She created many beautiful pieces of jewelry using turquoise and other natural stones. She loved traveling and caring for Suzie the dog and her cats.

She is survived by sister Sarah (Peter) Jubinski, nephew Peter Daniel (Jean) Jubinski Bethlehem, PA, sister-in-law Linda Deak, niece Beatrice Kephart, Santa Maria, CA, nephew Ronald (Teresa) Deak, OH, great nephew, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Deak.

Lew and Eleanor were members of The Church of The Good Shepherd. Funeral services were held July 2, 2019 at St. Michael’s Orthodox Church, Jermyn PA. Interment at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
