Help the hospital foundation help you

The Crook County Hospital Foundation is hosting a raffle with the first prize an antelope hunt as the first step in its fundraising project to build a new clinic within the Town of Hulett.

“We are a 501-3c and a separate entity from the hospital. We raise money for different medical needs in the county,” says foundation president Judy Hutchinson.

“Our project right now is ‘Help us help you’. We’re going to build a new clinic in Hulett and it’s going to have regular exam rooms and we’ve also got some specialty people who want to come in.”

Among those potential specialty offerings are physical therapy, pharmacy and acupuncture. The project to construct the clinic has already begun, says Hutchinson, but is at too early a stage for a fundraising goal to be firmly set.

“Right now we are working on the land. Our goal is to get land purchased and hopefully by spring start breaking ground,” she says.

A new clinic is something that has been on the docket for Hulett for quite a while, Hutchinson continues.

“Years ago, this was started and somehow it got lost in the shuffle. There was money that was earmarked for a new clinic in Hulett and somehow it all got put by the wayside,” she says.

“We are picking it up. “We have just now finished with the project of the CT scanner and all the new remodeling at the hospital. We provided money for that and it is complete, so our next project is getting this done.”

All donations to the foundation, including raffle tickets, are tax deductable, says Hutchinson.

“The first prize for the raffle is an antelope hunt. It’s for area two,” she says.

The hunt is for 2020 or 2021, unless the winner already has a license for this year, when it can be honored in 2019.

“The second prize is half a hog,” she adds.

The drawing will be held on August 24 in Hulett. Winners do not need to be present to win.

Tickets can be purchased by contacting a foundation member: Sandy Kellogg in Sundance at 290-0266; Nancy Feehan in Moorcroft at 660-7428; Neil Gray in Moorcroft at 794-8393; Bill Motley in Hulett at 290-5504; or Hutchinson in Aladdin at 605-645-5684.

Alternatively, ticket requests can be mailed to the Crook County Medical Foundation at PO Box 532, Sundance, WY 82729.
