As we begin to open up motorized trails across the Black Hills National Forest, I wanted to take the opportunity to thank the Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) users for their patience, compliance and understanding over the past month while the motorized trail system was closed.

The decision to delay opening seasonally closed roads and close the motorized trail system was very difficult as it impacted not only OHV users, but also local businesses, vendors, lodges, campgrounds and tourism in general.
