National Student Leadership Week finds Sundance Student Council in the park

Saturday will see second Tour de Wish event in Sundance

To celebrate both Earth Day and National Student Leadership week, a group of student council members met at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 22, to pick up trash in Clarenbach Park. Of course they couldn't resist the lure of the water, so some of them got their feet wet retrieving trash from the creek too.

This Saturday, May 4, Sundance Student Council is hosting their second annual Tour de Wish. The event is a family-oriented fun 5k, with walkers starting at 8 a.m., runners starting at 9 a.m. and cyclists starting at 9:30 a.m. from the high school parking lot.

All proceeds from this event will go to help grant wishes for children with critical illnesses via Make-A-Wish Wyoming. The first wish granted in Wyoming was for ten-year-old Brian from Gillette, who wished for a BMX bike.

Pre-registration for this event can be done online by visiting the Sundance High School Facebook page and finding the link to Eventbright. All participants will receive a Tour de Wish t-shirt as part of their registration fees. For more information about this event please call the school, 283-1007 and ask to speak to either Mary Jayne Jordan or Brittany Lenz.
