Continuing the Crook County News Since 1884
Dear Editor,
March 18, 2019, I attended the monthly school board meeting held in Moorcroft. Attending the meeting was Jessica and Doug Donnell of Moorcroft.
Mr. Donnell talked to Thayne Gray several days earlier and asked if he could address the board members concerning bullying, depression and suicide. At the meeting, Mr. Donnell was the first to address the board.
The paper you sign up on says you have five minutes. Mr. Donnell introduced himself and he was told he had five minutes. It was like, “You have five minutes so hurry up”.
Mr. Donnell discussed bullying, depression and suicide; one can lead to the other. Signs you might notice and what you can do. Mr. Donnell stopped at his allotted five minutes, though he was not finished with his presentation.
This subject matter is very serious and he should have been allowed to finish. Five more minutes would not have hurt anyone.
I never heard the board members say a word. Mr. Donnell was not thanked for his excellent informative presentation. Board members should have asked “What can we do? Who do we call”?
Call 911, they will connect you with the proper authorities.
If you would like to talk to Mr. Donnell, he is in the Moorcroft phone listings.
