Lady Bulldogs struggle on the road
The Sundance boys basketball team continued their conference play facing off against the Moorcroft Wolves on Friday night in Moorcroft. After holding the Wolves to a scoreless first quarter, the Bulldogs continued to dominate the floor, putting up 36 points in the first half.
Kye Taylor had an impressive game as he was able to sink five 3-point shots and lead the Bulldogs in scoring with 17 points. Gunner McLaughlin was right behind him putting in 15 points and pulling down seven rebounds for the Bulldogs.
It was an all-around team effort as the Bulldogs were able to walk away with a 61-24 victory over the Wolves.
Saturday afternoon the Bulldogs were back in action as they travelled to Lusk. The Bulldogs wasted no time in putting the points up on the board.
With a half time score of 30-18, Sundance was in control of the game. Landon Martin led the Bulldogs in scoring, putting up 17 on the night, with Lane Gill and Kye Taylor right behind him scoring 15 and 12 respectively. While the Lusk tried to push to the basket, it was to no avail as the Bulldogs took the 63-42 victory and improved their record to 9-7 overall.
The Bulldogs will travel to Dayton on Friday, February 1 to take on the 4-11 Tongue River Eagles.

The Sundance Lady Bulldogs took to the road as they travelled to face intra-county rival Moorcroft on Friday night. Being held to single digit scoring in each quarter, the Lady Bulldogs struggled as the Wolves dominated the floor both offensively and defensively.
Sherry Negaard led the Bulldogs in scoring, putting up 11 points for the night, while Madison Gill did her best to control the boards pulling down eight rebounds. In the end, the Lady Bulldogs were no match for the Lady Wolves and fell 29-61.
There was no rest for the weary as Sundance was back on the road and headed to Lusk on Saturday morning. Looking to turn things around, the Bulldogs came ready to play.
Trailing by eight points, 16-24 going into the half, the Bulldogs came out determined to score. Madison Gill and Sherry Negaard were both able to put up double digits scoring a combined total of 32 points for the Bulldogs.
Negaard sunk a floater as the buzzer rang in the fourth quarter and the game went into overtime with a score of 39-39.
"We were able to handle the press Lusk put on us and get a decent amount of turnovers pressing them," Bulldog coach Joni Ellsbury stated.
The only points the Bulldogs would score in overtime came from the free throw line as Gill made both her shots. Lusk, on the other hand, was able to put up seven more points, taking the 46-41 victory.
The Lady Bulldogs will take to the hardcourt again on Friday as they face off against the Tongue River Eagles
