    Savanah Peterson found herself in the top spot again this week as the Bulldog golfers competed at the Tiger Invitational. Finishing the course with a score of 89, Peterson outperformed her nearest competitor by a staggering 15 strokes.     The Sundance track and field team had a busy schedule last week, participating in three meets. Tuesday, the Bulldogs traveled to Douglas for a makeup meet from last week. It was here that Parker Skeens and Riley Banker both took first place finishes, qualifying them for state.     The Sundance varsity golf team hosted the Sundance Golf Invite on Friday last week, inviting teams from Upton, Moorcroft, Wright and Niobrara County. The Bulldog golfers fared well as Savanah Peterson took first place for the girls with an overall score of 85.     The spring golf season has begun for the Bulldog junior high golfers. The team participated in a tournament in Gillette on Monday last week. Setting the pace for the Bulldogs was Cash Peterson who took fourth place with a score of 41. Teammates Eliot Hege and Chesney Cundy tied for eighth place, shooting a 48.     The Sundance Bulldogs traveled to Wright to partake in the Panther Twilight Track Meet on Tuesday of last week. This was a smaller meet, with only five teams from the surrounding area participating. The Bulldog athletes took advantage of the smaller size and many were able to place in their events.     Track season is underway for the Sundance Bulldogs. The team was able to catch an early meet last week as they participated in the Laura Chord Invitational in Newcastle on Thursday. Being one of the first meets of the season, there were a total of 15 teams participating. Despite the large number of participants, the Bulldogs were able to see success in multiple events.     Lexi Marchant, pictured with her mom and dad, Brian and Jerlyn Marchant, of Sundance High School was the 2024 winner of the Bob Carey Award given annually to one girls' basketball player from a 1A/2A school. The Carey Award was instituted in 1996 in honor of long-time Lander High School Coach Bob Carey. Coach Carey was the only coach in Wyoming to have won both a boys' and girls' State Championship in basketball. He was also instrumental in starting girls' basketball in the state of Wyoming....
