The #1 ranked Sundance Bulldogs took to the road this past week, playing three games and adding three more wins to their record. Opening play on Tuesday, the Lady Bulldogs were up against #2 ranked Moorcroft Lady Wolves. The Sundance Bulldog Cross Country team competed in the Brittany Rentas Cross Country meet in Wright on Saturday, Oct. 3. The meet brought with it new competition for Bulldog athletes. Senior Hunter Skeens placed second in the boys’ varsity race in a time of 17:53:30. “It was a great race and I’m glad I got to see where I stood with some other runners I haven’t seen since the beginning of the season,” Skeens said. The Sundance Bulldogs hosted the Bulldog Invitational Fri., Sept. 25 at the Sundance Golf Course. It was a battle between two of the top five seeded teams this past week as the #2 ranked Wheatland Bulldogs came to town to face the #4 Upton-Sundance Patriots. The Sundance Lady Bulldogs continued their dominance on the court as they took on Wright this past week and were able to walk away with a 3-0 victory. “We are working hard to reach our full potential,” commented Coach Blasczyk. The Sundance Cross Country team traveled to Wright to compete Saturday, Sept. 19. Despite the heat, the Bulldogs pulled through to claim several top spots in the contest. Senior Hunter Skeens placed first in a time of 17:46 and freshman Rylie Marchant placed third in a time of 24:10. For the eighth year in a row, the Ron Materi Memorial 5K will be an opportunity to support a local cause and honor the memory of a beloved member of the community while enjoying the chance to stretch your legs in the great outdoors. All proceeds from this annual event go to the Ron Materi Road Trip Fund, which was established in 2013 to help families travel to reach treatment for life-threatening illnesses.
