The Sundance wrestling team took to the road this weekend traveling to Hulett. Facing wrestlers from Hulett, Harding County, and Tongue River the Bulldogs walked away with a couple wins for the weekend. With such a small team it is tough to ensure many matches, but each of the grapplers faced off against at least one opponent. Bulldog Boys The Sundance boys basketball team added three wins to their record this past weekend as they defeated Newcastle, Belle Fourche and Lead-Deadwood. Opening up play on Thursday night in Newcastle, the Bulldogs posted their first win for the season in a 63-51 victory over the Dogies. Lady Bulldogs The Sundance Girls basketball team took to the court Saturday for the opening game of the 2020-21 season. Up against the ever-quick Upton Lady Cats, the Lady Bulldogs kept the score close in the first half of play. The Sundance High School Bulldogs completed their 2020 season at the 2A State Cross Country Meet in Douglas Oct. 24. The snow-covered course proved a challenge to the Bulldog runners as they competed in nearly four inches of snow and slush and below 20-degree temperatures. The adversity did not stop senior Hunter Skeens and freshman Rylie Marchant from claiming top ten spots in the competition, however. The 7th grade volleyball team won their District Tournament on Friday, October 16 in Moorcroft. The team beat Upton in their first game 25-6 and 25-16. The Sundance High School Cross Country team celebrated a successful conference meet in Hulett on Friday, Oct. 16. Senior Bulldog runner Hunter Skeens claimed the first-place title in a time of 17:29. “It was a great race and it was a good course to help prepare for state. The 2020 Sundance Bulldog eighth grade volleyball season began its season with the pandemic threatening to stall the season at any time. Due to COVID restrictions, the team’s schedule was watered down and temperature taking and mask wearing became the new norm.
