    Preparations have now begun for this year’s Sundance Winter Festival, safe in the knowledge that Gillette Skijoring Derby has stepped up to handle the responsibilities of organizing the popular event.     Lady Bulldogs The Sundance Lady Bulldogs competed in the Stateline Shootout this past weekend, going up against the Newcastle Dogies, Lead/Deadwood Gold Diggers and the Belle Fourche Broncs.     Sundance's recreational space could see an overhaul next season with a suggestion to allow students of Crook County School District to make use of the city's outdoor basketball courts.     After an eventful weekend, the Sundance Lady Bulldogs are headed back to the state volleyball tournament as their quest to become three-peat champions begins. The opening round of regional play brought the number two seed from the north, the Sundance Bulldogs, up against the number three seed from the south, the Lusk Tigers.     Cana McInerney was awarded the Good Sportsmanship Award from the Wyoming High School Activities Association (WHSAA) for the sportsmanship she displayed during the volleyball tournament against Lingle-Ft.     US Patriots' regular season came to an end on Friday against a familiar opponent, the Big Horn Rams.
