Preparations have now begun for this year’s Sundance Winter Festival, safe in the knowledge that Gillette Skijoring Derby has stepped up to handle the responsibilities of organizing the popular event. Sundance's recreational space could see an overhaul next season with a suggestion to allow students of Crook County School District to make use of the city's outdoor basketball courts. It was a weekend for the books as the Lady Bulldogs made their third straight appearance at the class 2A state volleyball tournament this past weekend. After an eventful weekend, the Sundance Lady Bulldogs are headed back to the state volleyball tournament as their quest to become three-peat champions begins. The football season came to a close Friday for the Upton-Sundance Patriots as the Lovell Bulldogs took the 21-8 victory. Cana McInerney was awarded the Good Sportsmanship Award from the Wyoming High School Activities Association (WHSAA) for the sportsmanship she displayed during the volleyball tournament against Lingle-Ft. US Patriots' regular season came to an end on Friday against a familiar opponent, the Big Horn Rams. Keeping with their winning record, the Patriots walked away with a 40-14 victory and the number three seed going into postseason play. The Upton-Sundance Patriots steamrolled the Glenrock Herders this past week, taking a 45-0 victory.
