    The Lady Bulldogs were up against stiff competition as they took on the 3A Newcastle Dogies on Friday and the #1 ranked 2A team, the Big Horn Rams on Saturday. It was a hard-fought battle Friday night as Sundance went up against Newcastle, but the Lady Bulldogs fell just short as the Dogies swept them three games to none.     The Sundance volleyball team split their competitions this week, taking a victory over the Tongue River Eagles and falling to the Hulett Red Devils. It was an evenly matched competition on Tuesday night as Sundance hosted the Hulett Red Devils for a friendly intra-county competition.     The Upton-Sundance Patriots took on the Burns Broncs this past Friday in Burns. It was the Patriots who were first on the board Friday night as their explosive offense pushed their way down the field, setting quarterback Keaton Mills up for a one-yard run into the endzone and putting six points on to the scoreboard for the Patriots.     The fall golf season has come to a close as the Sundance Bulldogs participated in the 2A State Golf meet in Wright this past weekend. Overall, the Bulldog golfers all fared well against their competition. The Lady Bulldogs had two top ten finishers at the state meet as Sheridan Schubarth maintained her consistency and took home a second place finish with a score of 191.     It was a late night for the Patriots as lightning delayed the start of their game against the Tongue River Eagles on Friday in Upton. After an hour delay, both teams took to the soggy field, each hoping to gain the momentum needed to put their team on the scoreboard first.     The Sundance Lady Bulldogs were in Big Horn this past weekend participating in the Big Horn Volleyball Tournament. The Bulldogs opened up with pool play on Friday, going against Greybull, Kaycee and Burns. Sundance split their games against Greybull and Kaycee and swept Burns 2-0.     The US Patriots kicked off the 2022 season against a familiar foe in the Big Horn Rams, on a cool Friday night at Croell Fiend in Sundance.     Local pickleball players requested additional support from the City of Sundance last week. Representing the large group of passionate picklers, Susan Worthington made three requests for the coming summer season. The council did not consider the first two requests to be any problem.
