    The Sundance Bulldog wrestling team had a busy week this past week as they competed in the Newell Scramble on Tuesday and Hill City Invitational on Saturday. The shorthanded Bulldog team competed this past Tuesday with only five healthy wrestlers but returned with an overall 8-4 record. Competing were Karter Mayberry 120 lbs. 3-0, Jayden Keller 126 lbs. 2-0, Liam Holt 160 lbs. 1-2, Gavin Mollenbrink 182 lbs. 1-1, and Jacob Comer 220 lbs. 1-1.     SHS Girls The Sundance Lady Bulldogs had their week of competitions cut short this week due to weather. As the blowing snow and bitter cold set in, the games against Hill City and Burns, in Lusk, were canceled. There was, however, a slight break in the weather and the team was able to travel down the road to face the Moorcroft Wolves on Friday evening.     The Sundance wrestlers hosted the Sundance Quad last week. Going up against wrestlers from Campbell County, Thunder Basin, Belle Fourche and Hulett, the Bulldog grapplers fared well. Zac Duvall was the top wrestler at the 106 division, winning by fall over all of his competitors.     SHS Girls The Sundance Lady Bulldogs closed out another week of non-conference play as they faced two more teams from South Dakota and their county rival, Hulett. Monday night, the team had their final makeup game from the Stateline Shootout as the Belle Fourche Broncs came to town.     The Bulldog wrestling team started the second half of their season by participating in the 16-team Newcastle Invitational this past Friday. Leading the way for the Bulldogs were Jayden Keller with a second-place finish at 126 lbs and Karter Mayberry with a third-place finish also at 126 lbs.     The Sundance Bulldogs were able to dig out of the snow and play one game of the Stateline Shootout on Friday. Rescheduling to just the varsity, the Bulldogs hosted the Newcastle Dogies. “The boys played well coming off a week of no practice,” commented head coach Nic Olson, “It took us a little bit to get into the game but overall I was happy with their performance after a long break.” Despite their slow start, the Bulldog defense fueled their offense.     The 2022-23 Sundance Bulldog wrestling season began this past Friday in Lusk for the Tiger Invitational. As a team, the Bulldogs finished eighth out of the 15 teams. The Sundance wrestling team had 11 wrestlers competing. In the boys’ division, Jayden Keller led the way with a second-place finish followed by third-place finishes from Zac Duvall and Jacob Comer.     The 2022 volleyball season came to a close for the Sundance Lady Bulldogs at the Regional Tournament this past weekend in Burns. Coming in as the number three seed from the north, the Lady Bulldogs opened tournament play against the number two seed from the south, Lingle Fort Laramie. This was a tight matchup throughout all four sets. Sundance was able to squeeze out the first win in set one, taking a narrow 25-22 victory.
