    Due to the COVID-19 school closure, and restrictions still in place, Sundance Elementary School will not be doing Kindergarten screening this year. They are asking parents to come during the allotted time according to the first letter of last name on Wed., May 20 to register their incoming Kindergarten student. A to J will be from 8 to 10 a.m. and K to Z will be from 10 a.m. to noon. All paperwork needs to be returned completed.     The Harper Memorial Scholarship committee is pleased to announce the 2020-2021 scholarship recipients. The Orville D. Harper Revocable Trust and the Wanda J. Harper Revocable Trust established this scholarship fund, for which Crook County School District #1 is a beneficiary. The trust designates scholarships for graduates of the Sundance, Wyoming High School to allow them to attend any Wyoming in-state university or college.     Most kids won’t be returning to class during this school year, but Crook County School District (CCSD) is developing plans to make sure those students who are struggling receive the attention they need, while the seniors will go out at graduation with a bang instead of a fizzle.     In response to Governor Mark Gordon’s decision to extend statewide health orders until April 17, Crook County School District (CCSD) has announced it will remain closed until that date. The Wyoming High School Activities Association (WSHAA) will be suspending spring sports until the same date.     Sundance FCCLA members, Sherry Negaard and Nevada Gill, with birthday party supplies donated by the community for their project. Each pack is equipped with a cake mix, a can of frosting, a 13x9 pan, decorative items, candles, napkins and plates. They exceeded the original goal of 25 bags by gathering 40 completed birthday bags. The party packs will be donated to the Crook County Food Pantry this week.     At the recommendation of Superintendent Mark Broderson, the Crook County School District Board of Trustees has chosen to delay adoption of a new technology policy due to concerns that its wording is too vague.
