Kegan Vega of Gillette has been charged with sexual abuse of a minor after allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old during a camping trip. According to a special agent with the Division of Criminal Investigation, the assault took place at Keyhole State Park on July 8, 2023 at around 2 a.m. The agent was assigned to investigate the incident on February 1. A Las Vegas man faces possession charges after his story about traveling to Blackhawk to become a farmer raised suspicions for a Crook County Sheriff’s Office Deputy. The Wyoming Department of Corrections announced last week that inmate Fred Schon had died at the Wyoming Medium Correctional Facility in Torrington. In 2021, the 87-year-old was sentenced in Crook County to up to 40 years of incarceration for second degree sexual abuse of a minor under the age of 13. A Minnesota man has been given a suspended sentence on possession charges after both methamphetamine and marijuana were found on his person and in his vehicle during a traffic stop. On October 4, 2023, a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper was patrolling U.S. Hwy 212 near milepost 16 when he saw a vehicle traveling east at a high rate of speed.
