Our Thanks We would like to thank everyone for being so kind, generous, and caring during our time of sorrow. The loss of our son, Joshua, has been terrible but the outpouring of support has been a light in the darkness. We do not know many of those that have helped us as we have found anonymous donations of food in our freezer and there were many donations of cookies for Joshua’s service. In last week’s Sundance Times, our story “Shakeup for county fire and emergency management roles” mistakenly implied that the county commissioners made changes to the fire warden position. The commissioners discussed those changes as potential options but did not, in fact, adopt any changes during their meeting. In addition, the $6120 reported as budgeted for the warden position was an estimated number and the actual amount will not be officially budgeted until the county budget is completed next month. Thank You As we begin to open up motorized trails across the Black Hills National Forest, I wanted to take the opportunity to thank the Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) users for their patience, compliance and understanding over the past month while the motorized trail system was closed. The decision to delay opening seasonally closed roads and close the motorized trail system was very difficult as it impacted not only OHV users, but also local businesses, vendors, lodges, campgrounds and tourism in general. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Cooper of Sundance, Wyoming, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Chrystal Cooper, to Collin Rodriguez, son of Mike Rodriguez and Lynn Kundson of Buffalo, Wyoming. A state of Wyoming veterans service officer from the Wyoming Veterans Commission will conduct community outreach services in Wyoming cities throughout September. Brian Yeager is available to meet with veterans and their families to discuss state and federal veterans’ benefits, Department of Veterans Affairs claims or VA healthcare.
