According to this year’s accountability scores, all of Crook County’s schools are at least partially meeting the state’s expectations and have not seen a significant drop in performance scores, despite the disruptions caused by COVID-19. Black Hills National Forest officials are proposing to restore the Moskee burn area, located approximately 15 miles southeast of Sundance off Moskee Road. In August, 1936, a wildfire burned approximately 4700 acres on National Forest lands and 2400 acres on private lands near the old town of Moskee. The Forest Service re-planted and seeded around 2500 acres of the burned area with non-native Ponderosa Pine from outside the Black Hills area. Marvin Dale Lincoln was born March 9, 1928 in Jireh, Wyoming to Alfred and Dora (Brahms) Lincoln. He was the youngest of four children and the last to pass away on September 28, 2022 at the age of 94. Marvin attended Faye School, a typical one room country school, through the third grade. On September 22, 2022, Delbert Lyle "Ding-a-Ling" Stugelmeyer went to join his beloved wife Neva, aka "Mother". He was born November 23, 1940, in McLaughlin, South Dakota, to Edward and Susan (Schell) Stugelmeyer. After graduating high school, he met and fell in love with Neva Leger. It was a rare Thursday night game for the Upton-Sundance Patriots last week as they traveled to Newcastle to meet the Dogies. The first half of play was a back and forth between the teams as both sides found their way down the field and onto the scoreboard.
