Sundance volleyball won their season opener on Tuesday night against Upton. The first game was a back and forth of points between the Bulldogs and Bobcats. With the score tied at 10, the Bulldogs started to pull away one point at a time. Sundance was up 21-16 when the Bobcats called a timeout to slow the scoring and try to regroup. The timeout worked as the Bobcats closed the gap to one, with a score of 24-23. In the end, the Bulldogs were able to get the final point and take the win in game one. The Patriots opened up regular season play against the Lusk Tigers on Friday night and while lightning was in the forecast yet again, the only strikes close enough to cause problems were the Patriots in the end zone, early and often. Kye Taylor was fast was the first to strike, making it into the end zone three times in the first half. The Sundance cross country team competed at Spearfish this past weekend. Hunter Skeens ran the team best 12th place with a time of 17:54 while Tori Wheeler was the first one in for the girls’ varsity runners taking 24th with a time of 22:47, dropping almost two minutes from her time last week at Mallo Invite in Newcastle. Buttons and Bows Club met on Sept 11 at Deb Snook's home. 8 member attended the fun Silent Auction meeting. The auction at Family Night picnic in July at New Haven raised $1400 for the New Haven community bldg. Thank you all who bought items and donated items and money.
