The Wyoming Department of Corrections announced last week that inmate Fred Schon had died at the Wyoming Medium Correctional Facility in Torrington. In 2021, the 87-year-old was sentenced in Crook County to up to 40 years of incarceration for second degree sexual abuse of a minor under the age of 13. Schon was originally charged with 52 separate felony counts of the same charge. The incidents allegedly took place over a period of approximately four years, according to court reports.
