    Fair week wrapped up for another year with a finale of smiles and cheering. A busy parade made its way along Main Street in Sundance on Saturday morning with participants ranging from volunteer emergency personnel to political candidates, local business and 4-H clubs.     U.S. Senator John Barrasso visited Crook County at the weekend to spend some time getting to know the locals during fair.     A truly wonderful woman, Lavona Morey, went to glory on June 29, 2024 in Sundance, Wyoming, after a short stay in hospice following a stroke. Lavona was born January 27, 1936 in Jackson, Michigan, to Robert and Gladys Riddering. She married her sweetheart, Eugene Morey on May 5, 1956, and they had 58 wonderful years together.     Crook County Natural Resource District (CCNRD) is once again bringing a trailer to town to collect the electronics that are clogging up your storage space. The district will this year be hosting the event in the parking lot of its office in Sundance and will have signs posted to designate entry and exit points in order to keep the traffic flowing properly.   • CCMSD countersues EMR firm

    Crook County Medical Services District (CCMSD) has filed a counterclaim against the company that was until recently responsible for its electronic medical records system. Last month, TruBridge Inc. filed a suit in the Southern District of Alabama that claimed the district broke its contract when it ceased to use the company’s services and therefore owes just under $1 million in damages. CCMSD, on the other hand, argues that TruBridge failed to “satisfactorily perform its obligations”, which caused “significant damages” and threatened the distr...

    The Secretary of State’s Office announced at the beginning of the week that the people’s initiative looking to create a property tax exemption for homeowners through a ballot measure has not gathered quite enough signatures to be valid. The committee’s submission saw 28,700 accepted valid signatures, of the 29,730 required by law based on the number of votes cast in the last general election.
