  • Crook County Extension Learning Lab applications available

    The Crook County Extension Learning lab is now accepting applications for 2019. The program is designed to give youth that live in town or simply don’t have facilities the opportunity to participate in market animal projects through 4-H or FFA. Swine, sheep and goat projects will be housed at the Crook County Fairgrounds in Sundance from May 1 through Crook County Fair. Participants will purchase their own animals, feed and bedding.     U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., is encouraging Wyoming high school students to apply to be a Senate page in Washington, D.C.   • Governor encourages Wyoming students to join cybersecurity competition

    Governor Mark Gordon today encouraged young women in Wyoming high schools to take advantage of an opportunity to explore their aptitude for cybersecurity and computer science by trying to solve the challenges of the 2019 Girls Go CyberStart program. Participating students (and their teachers) do not need knowledge or experience in information technology or cybersecurity to participate.     Acting Intermountain Regional Director Kate Hammond announced the selection of Amnesty Kochanowski as superintendent of Devils Tower National Monument. Kochanowski has been serving as interim superintendent at Devils Tower National Monument since July 2018. She assumes her new role effective March 17.     State Readings Currently the state’s SNOTELs are reading 104 percent of median with a basin high of 118 percent and a basin low of 88 percent. Last year the state was at 115 percent, and at 148 percent in 2017. The map may differ slightly from the table depending upon how many stations were reporting at the time.
